The clock is ticking : Stop, drop and file your request for review of your assessment roll!

If you are a property owner in Montreal or in one of the 115 cities and municipalities that have presented a new assessment roll for 2023-2024-2025, you have just a little over two months left to file your requests for review.

If you wish to file a request for review, it is better to do so in advance and it should not be left to the last minute, especially when it could have a significant impact on your tax bill for the next three years, as is the case for many in this roll!

In fact, you have until April 30, 2023, to file your request for review. This deadline is compulsory and cannot be extended.  Once the deadline has passed, there is no longer any way to dispute your assessment roll, unless the property satisfies an exception provided for in the Act respecting municipal taxation (CQLR, c. F-2.1).

To learn more about the pros and cons of contesting your assessment roll and how to do so, we invite you to read our articles on these subjects.
