Park fees: Montreal will wait 12 months to apply the new rules

On June 12, 2017, the City of Montreal adopted the new park fees regulation that standardized the rules for contributions throughout the City. It will come into force soon after publication of a public notice and will only be applicable 12 months after this publication.

Park Fee Regulations (June 12, 2017).

The new regulation defines, among other things, “redevelopments” that give rise to park fees and sets the rules for calculating the contribution, that is, site assessment and applicable exemptions.

Thus, the by-law will replace the by-laws specific to the 13 boroughs that were adopted by the City of Montreal in recent years.
